PhD in Sciences, mention in Biophysics and Computational Biology

The PhD Program in Sciences with a mention in Biophysics and Computational Biology aims to train scientists capable of understanding biological processes from a physical-mathematical approach, promoting the integration of interdisciplinary studies, and covering from the molecular level to the mathematical modeling of biological systems. .

Program objectives:

  • Deliver a solid theoretical and practical training in protein biophysics, bioinformatics, models in structural biology and computational neuroscience, applied at different levels of biological organization..
  • Promote interdisciplinary science by attracting students with diverse initial undergraduate training, giving them opportunities to complement their training in various areas
  • Train scientists capable of innovating and contributing to the development of science and technology in the country.
  • Strengthen the integration of basic science research and its numerical applications in areas of health, engineering, robotics, among others..
