Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Center of Valparaíso (CINV)
The Centro Interdisciplinario de Neurociencia de Valparaíso (CINV) at the University of Valparaíso, Chile, invites applications from national and international researchers to the CINV Postdoctoral Fellowship Program 2026, within the framework of the recently awarded CINV Millennium Institute.
-
Scientific context and research focus
The CINV Millennium Institute aims to identify the mechanisms that trigger and sustain chronic neuroinflammation associated with different neurological disorders and to determine the role of neuroinflammation in the pathology of these diseases. CINV investigators use a variety of computational and experimental approaches, including genetically tractable animal models as well as multidisciplinary collaborative efforts combining expertise in genetics, behavior, glia-neuron communication, metabolism, biophysics, genomics, bioinformatics, host-microbe communication, and biomolecular modelling to:

- Identify molecules and pathways that trigger, sustain, and propagate neuroinflammation.
- Identify novel molecular targets acting upstream of known inflammatory pathways.
- Analyze the consequences of neuroinflammation on physiology and behavior.
- Discover biomarkers to monitor disease progression and therapeutic effectiveness.
- Develop and evaluate therapeutic strategies aimed at reducing the severity of inflammation and associated symptoms, including novel drugs or drug repurposing.
-
Program objective
The CINV Postdoctoral Fellowship Program 2026 seeks to attract outstanding postdoctoral researchers to conduct research projects aligned with the scientific objectives of the CINV Millennium Institute, fostering collaboration and complementary scientific approaches.
-
