About CINV
The International Gap Junction Conference 2015
The Centro Interdisciplinario de Neurociencia de Valparaíso (CINV) is an institute housed in the Universidad de Valparaiso. The Center specializes in studying the nervous system, and boasts a team of biophysicists, physiologists, neurobiologists, and experts on bioinformatics and molecular modeling. Its scope of study includes a variety of research from how proteins transduce signals from the outside world to the behavior of neural networks and animals.
The CINV plays an important role in training future neurobiologists from the Neurocience Master an Ph. D. Programs and the Biophysics Ph. D program of the University of Valparaíso.
In 2011, the CINV became the first Center within a public university to become an “Instituto Milenio”. Within the field of science, the Center actively collaborates in projects to revitalize Valparaíso.
In terms of outreach, the CINV offers a series of conferences, workshops and short courses to expose young scientists to modern neuroscience.
