Moreover, the group is interested on unraveling the mechanisms involved in the alteration of neuronal plasticity after postnatal stress induction. by studying the processes underlying certain neurodegenerative diseases researchers aim to contribute with new knowledge that could facilitate the development of new therapies for treating these diseases. Certain biomarkers that have been identified in Alzheimer\u2019s disease have been also found in the retina, affecting its normal physiological function. This group\u00b4s results suggest the implication-participation of AMPA-NMADA glutamatergic receptors (involved in neuronal activation) and a new pathway regulated by nitric oxide, an important immunological, vascular and platelet aggregation modulator.
